Career Talk by Four Elements Capital

During the session, Maxime Fages and NUS alumni Yong Cheng Ho will meet the students, and share career opportunities at the fund. They will also present a project called Alphien (information below), which is in beta now with a competition awarding SGD10,000 for the best strategy.

Alphien is an initiative by Four Elements Capital, a quantitative Hedge Fund established in 2008. We want to explore how open collaboration could yield innovative quantitative strategies. By providing the tools of a professional hedge fund to our participants, we break the barrier of entry for an individual like yourself to engage in activities used to be exclusive to financial institutions. Alphien will leverage on the technology developed and used by professional quantitative strategists and traders over the last 9 years. We aim to unlock the potentials of multidisciplinary knowledge base. Our participants come from diverse backgrounds with two things in common - strong academic credentials and a keen interest in the financial market. We facilitate interaction and collaboration among our participants by providing a communication channel and rewards for participants who are active in helping the community.
