This international conference will provide a platform for policy makers, regulators, industry executives, and researchers from academia and industry to enhance their risk management techniques, explore the latest investment strategies and manage the fundamental regulatory changes in the financial sector. The conference begins with a half-day policy forum where the focus of talks will be on policy initiatives, regulatory changes and industry developments. The second half of the day of the conference is a scientific program where researchers will present on recent theoretical developments, analytical techniques and empirical findings in the field of risk management. A pre-conference workshop on Credit Portfolio Management is organized in collaboration with the International Association of Credit Portfolio Managers.

Lars Peter Hansen is the David Rockefeller Distinguished Service Professor and the Director of BFI’s Macro Finance Research (MFR) Program at the University of Chicago. He is the leading expert in economic dynamics who works at the forefront of economic thinking and modeling, drawing approaches from macroeconomics, finance, and statistics. Hansen has made fundamental advances in our understanding of how economic agents cope with changing and risky environments. He is the recipient of the 2013 Sveriges Riksbank Prize in Economic Sciences in Memory of Alfred Nobel.

Noah Williams is a Centennial Endowed Chair and Professor of Economics at the Miami Herbert Business School at the University of Miami. Before joining Miami, he was on the faculty at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and Princeton University. He is also an adjunct fellow at the Manhattan Institute. Williams's research focuses on macroeconomics—particularly monetary policy, social insurance programs, and financial markets—as well as state economies, and has co-authored several papers with Nobel Prize recipients Lars Peter Hansen and Thomas Sargent. In addition to his academic work, he regularly comments on economic policy for broader audiences. Williams regularly consults and advises businesses and community groups, politicians, and policy organizations on macroeconomics and tax policy. He earned his Ph.D. and B.A. in economics from the University of Chicago.

Agostino Capponi is an Associate Professor in the IEOR Department at Columbia University. His research interests are in financial technology, blockchain design, machine learning in finance, market microstructure, and financial networks. Agostino's research has been funded by major government agencies and private corporations, including NSF, DARPA, DOE, IBM, GRI, Ripple, and Ethereum. His research has been recognized with the 2018 NSF CAREER award, and with the inaugural JP Morgan AI Research Faculty award. His research findings have been covered by major media outlets, including Bloomberg, Thomson Reuters, Politico, and the Financial Times. Agostino is a fellow of the crypto and blockchain economics research forum, an academic fellow of Alibaba's Luohan academy, and an external fellow of the FinTech Initiative at Cornell. Agostino is the former Chair of the SIAG/FME Activity Group and of the INFORMS Finance Section, and the founding director of the Columbia Center for Digital Finance and Technologies. Agostino serves as an editor of Management Science in the Finance Department, co-editor of Mathematics and Financial Economics, and area editor of Operations Research Letters. He also serves as an associate editor of major journals in his field, such as Operations Research, Finance and Stochastics, SIAM Journal on Financial Mathematics, and Stochastic Systems. Agostino is a co-editor of the book "Machine Learning and Data Sciences for Financial Markets: A Guide to Contemporary Practices", recently published by the Cambridge University Press.

Min Dai is Chair Professor in Applied Statistics and Financial Mathematics, Department of Applied Mathematics and School of Accounting and Finance, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU). Prior to joining PolyU in 2021, he taught at National University of Singapore and Peking University after receiving his PhD degree from Fudan University in 2000. His research focuses on financial derivative pricing, portfolio selection with market imperfections, corporate finance, and financial technology. He published in peer-reviewed journals of different disciplines, such as Journal of Econometrics, Journal of Economic Theory, Management Science, Mathematical Finance, Review of Financial Studies, and SIAM Journals. Currently he is a Co-editor of Digital Finance and serves in editorial boards of Finance and Stochastics, Journal of Economic Dynamics and Control, SIAM Journal on Financial Mathematics, and Mathematics and Financial Economics.

Neil D. Pearson is the Harry A. Brandt Distinguished Professor at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and a Research Fellow of the Canadian Derivatives Institute. He previously served on the faculty of the Simon Graduate School of Business Administration at the University of Rochester, as a Special Term Professor at Tsinghua University, as a Visiting Professor at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and as a Visiting Academic Fellow at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. His published research is in asset pricing and financial derivatives, and he teaches courses about the valuation of derivative financial instruments and the measurement of financial risks. In addition to publishing papers in a number of academic journals, Dr. Pearson is the author of Risk Budgeting: Portfolio Problem Solving Using Value at Risk. He is an Associate Editor of the Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis and the Journal of Risk. Dr. Pearson has extensive consulting experience on the valuation of financial instruments and the measurement and management of market and credit risk, and is currently affiliated with Rutter Associates (NY). He received his Ph.D. from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Ming Yang is an Associate Professor of Economics and Finance at UCL. He holds a PhD in economics from Princeton University, an MSc in economics from Tsinghua University, and a BSc in Mathematics from Nanjing University. He works on various topics in finance, economics, and accounting, which share the central theme of strategic information acquisition and disclosure. In particular, he studies:
i) The interplay between security design and information acquisition in corporate finance.
ii) The role of information acquisition and disclosure in supporting coordination.
iii) Incentive contract and monitoring.
iv) Accounting and optimal information disclosure, etc.
His work includes papers published in the Review of Economic Studies, the Review of Financial Studies, Journal of Economic Theory, Theoretical Economics, and the Journal of Accounting and Economics.

Marcia Banks is the Deputy Director of the International Association of Credit Portfolio Managers (IACPM). The IACPM is a non-profit industry association dedicated to advancing the practice of credit portfolio management through advocacy, research, education, communication and promotion of sound practices. IACPM’s members total over 130 financial institutions around the globe. Her current industry initiatives include work on Climate and ESG, advanced data and analytics for risk management, and regulatory developments affecting financial institutions’ soundness and capital adequacy. Previously, Marcia was a managing director and senior portfolio manager at JPMorgan Chase/Bank One. She headed the portfolio management team covering the Bank’s loan portfolio and also worked for many years in loan syndications. Marcia holds an MBA, Finance, from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and a BSFS, Economics, from the School of Foreign Service at Georgetown University. She teaches regularly at the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) and also serves of the Advisory Board of the Arditti Risk Management Center at DePaul University.

Davide Crippa is currently Chief Risk Officer of Maybank Singapore. Prior to joining the bank in 2019, he spent ten years at Standard Chartered, lastly as Global Head of Risk Measurement. He has served twice on the IACPM Board, first during his tenure as Head of Portfolio Management and Analytics at Swiss Re, spearheading the expansion of the association to the insurance industry, and later on after moving to Singapore for Standard Chartered, where he supported the expansion of the IACPM in South East Asia and India. Davide holds a PhD from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH) and an MBA from the University of Rochester (NY), as well as an International Director Program certificate from INSEAD.

David Dredge is CIO, CEO and a Director of Convex Strategies Re Ltd. Mr Dredge fulfilled these same roles while managing the Fund under City Financial Investment Company Pte Ltd. Prior to joining City Financial Investment Company Re Ltd, Mr. Dredge worked as Co- Chief Investment Officer at Fortress Investment Group LLC. Prior to joining Fortress in 2011, Mr. Dredge was a Managing Director and Portfolio Manager at Artradis Fund Management in Singapore, where he was responsible for the non-equity aspects of their volatility based portfolio. Previously, Mr. Dredge built Asian and Global EM businesses for RBS/ABN AMRO Group and Bankers Trust. Prior to that he performed various trading roles for Bank of America in San Francisco, London, Singapore, Jakarta, Tokyo and Hong Kong. Mr. Dredge is a main committee member of the Singapore Foreign Exchange Markets Committee (SFEMC).
Mr. Dredge graduated from University of Utah with a degree in Finance and completed an MBA at the University of California, Berkeley.

Philip is Group Corporate Treasurer, responsible for DBS’ balance sheet, capital, wholesale funding, duration management and structural FX globally. He leads DBS Group’s IBOR transition program and chairs the corresponding ABS industry workgroup for corporate loans. He became corporate treasurer 13 years ago and in total has more than 30 years of experience in financial services in Singapore and London.
Philip was awarded the Institute of banking & Finance Distinguished Fellow award for Financial Markets in 2021 and was previously named “Bank Treasurer of the Year” at The Asset Asian Awards. Prior to heading Corporate Treasury, he was DBS’ co-head of market risk for five years.
Philip is a Singaporean who holds an M.A. from Cambridge University where he studied Engineering and Management under a DBS scholarship. Previously, he was also an adjunct associate professor at the Singapore Management University for six years, where he specialised in quantitative finance. He was appointed as a Member of the Institute of Valuers and Appraisers, Singapore (IVAS) Council in 2022.

Ms. Jayne Plunkett is the Group Chief Risk Officer responsible for the Group’s risk and compliance functions. She is a director of various companies within the Group, including Tata AIA Life, AIA Singapore Private Limited and AIA Philippines Life and General Insurance Company Inc. (formerly known as The Philippine American Life and General Insurance (PHILAM LIFE) Company).
Ms. Plunkett joined AIA in November 2019 from Swiss Re, where she was most recently Chief Executive Officer Reinsurance Asia, Regional President Asia and member of the Group Executive Committee. During her time with Swiss Re, she held several senior positions, including Head of Casualty Underwriting for Asia and Division Head Casualty Reinsurance. Prior to that, she was with GE Insurance Solutions. Ms. Plunkett holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Drake University. She is a Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society (FCAS) and a member of the American Academy of Actuaries (MAAA).

Lutfey Siddiqi is an Adjunct Professor at NUS Risk Management Institute and Advisory Board Member of the Centre for Governance and Sustainability (CGS) at NUS Business School. He is a Visiting Professor-in-Practice at the London School of Economics (LSE IDEAS) where is also an advisory board member at the Systemic Risk Centre and The Inclusion Initiative (department of behavioural science).
He was previously a senior investment banker, serving in global and Asia-wide roles at UBS and Barclays.
Lutfey was recognized as a Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum in 2012 where he has served on their global future councils since 2014, contributing to the official Davos program for several years. He is a governor of UWC Atlantic College, former governor of New City College London and a former board member of CFA Singapore. Having served as a member of the Court of Governors, investment committee and health & safety assurance committee, he is now an Emeritus Governor of the London School of Economics.

Seamus Toal is currently the Chief Risk Officer Asia Pacific of Deutsche Bank Group with oversight across all risk categories, credit, market, liquidity, operational and information and resilience and responsible for implementation of risk strategies, vision, policies and director. Seamus is based in Singapore, and is a member of the Chief Risk Office Executive Council and Regional Governance Board and he is also a non-independent executive director on the board of Deutsche Bank (Malaysia) Berhad and a Branch Manager for Deutsche Bank Singapore. Seamus has 30+ years of experience in the banking industry. He re-joined Deutsche Bank in his current role at the beginning of 2017 having spent 4 years at DBS Bank where he held the position of Deputy Chief Risk Officer and Group Head of Credit Risk. Preceding DBS, Seamus spent 13 years with Deutsche Bank and prior to that with NatWest Bank and NatWest Markets. Seamus has a deep understanding of the region, having lived and worked in APAC for a number of years, and he brings global knowledge and experience having lived and worked in Europe and the USA. During his career he has covered many product areas across Institutional Risk, including Commodities, Leveraged Finance, Commercial Real Estate, Financial Institutions, Traded Assets, Corporate and Credit Trading in both Developed and Emerging Markets. In addition he has held roles where he was responsible for other key credit areas including Wealth Management, Consumer and Small Medium Enterprises. He is a graduate of the Columbia Senior Executive Program, a Fellow of the Institute of Bankers and Finance Singapore and Fellow of the Association of Corporate Treasurers.
