On 19 January 2021 RMI hosted its annual on campus information session for the MFE Program’s August 2021 admission exercise. The information session, was one of the few in-person events hosted by RMI with all the safety precautions and safe management measures in place. MFE classes continued to be conducted online with all teaching modules made available ‘live’ to the students. Student’s feedback on virtual learning has been positive, allowing our international students to take the classes virtually from their home countries with travel bans being imposed on and off throughout 2021. For the admission exercise of AY2022 cohort, RMI also conducted a few virtual information sessions in both English and Mandarin throughout the year. The MFE program has one intake per year in August and the admission exercise takes place over two cycles: early admission and regular admission cycle. The early admission cycle usually takes place a few months before the regular admission cycle which runs from 1 October of the previous year to 15 March of the intake year.
The Master of Science in Financial Engineering (MFE) is a multi-disciplinary program that combines finance, mathematics, and computing with a practical orientation to solve problems in finance. The MFE was launched in 1999 by the Centre for Financial Engineering at NUS, the predecessor to RMI. It aims to equip finance and banking industry professionals and fresh graduates with current knowledge and skills in financial innovations and technology.
