This year RMI organized several training programs conducted virtually via Zoom. In January and May 2021 RMI welcomed its two annual cohorts for its Financial Risk Manager (FRM®) Certification Training Program – Part I & II and one cohort of the FRM program on Singapore Laws and Regulation. This program helps prepare professionals from the financial industry for the rigorous examinations to obtain the FRM® certification. RMI has successfully conducted this Program bi-annually since 2013 and prepared over 300 participants for the examination that takes place twice a year in May and November. The certification is globally recognized and administered by the Global Association of Risk Professionals (GARP). RMI also conducted three cohorts of the IBF Standards Certificate in Operational Risk Management Level 1 for banking professionals in Singapore in January, June and December 2021. Inherent in all banking products, activities, processes, and systems, operational risk is a fundamental element of a bank’s risk management programme. This course features a highly focused and specialized curriculum, teaching materials and coursework developed around the IBF Standards which is cutting-edge, forward looking and developed by the financial industry and benchmarked against the best standards and practices in the world. The IBF Standards consists of four Competency Units (CU) – Governance, Analytics, Technology and Functional with the different learning objectives. From 22 March to 17 May 2021, RMI conducted one of its specialized certification programs, the NUS RMI Specialist Diploma in Credit Risk Management (CRM) – Corporate Banking. The program comprises of three modules and is designed to enable credit practitioners to review real market situations and to bring credit professionals’ analysis skills to an advanced level. Topics covered under the program include CRM objectives, strategies and framework, credit risk policies and procedures, credit risk mitigation, credit risk controls, tools and processes, structure and governance framework, best practices in CRM, among others. RMI also conducted a training program for Certificate in Data Analytics for Banking Professionals from 26 June to 10 July 2021. This program is targeted at banking professionals who are not data scientists by training but require data analytics to understand and solve business problems. The training covers data storytelling, predictive modelling, diagnostic modelling and related topics. Lastly RMI also participated two virtual career fairs organized by IBF on 4-5 August and 8-9 November 2021. In addition to setting up a virtual booth, RMI also conducted five 1-hour sessions on FRM, ORM and Data Analytics during both the career fairs.
